The Bernise Oberland is so impressive area to fly even in a simulator, that it was worth taking a small hop from Meiringen Air Base to Interlaken Airport (LSMI). The journey was only about crossing Brienzersee (Lake Brienz), which lies in the same valley as Meiringen and Interlaken themselves.
Interlaken is a small city in the Bernese Highlands region of central Switzerland. Located between two alpine lakes (Lake Brienz (Brienzersee) and Lake Thun (Thunersee)), Interlaken is a popular base camp for outdoor sports and travel in the surrounding Bernese Oberland Alps. Interlaken itself is a superb holiday destination.

How do you get the Interlaken Airport? I can’t find it on FlightGear it’s there on the map but… there are red bull pylons set up in a course where the runway should be and there is no runway… anywhere near. I would also like to add a question… what kind of settings do you fly with because I would really like to fly with my scenery looking like that. Oh and one last thing, sorry, I’m not sure how to insert custom scenery or airports… could you enlighten me as to how I could do that? Thanks!

Well, I have Terra Sync enabled and it takes care of terrain downloading. About the look… You can find rendering options from View menu:
SCENERY
[X] Animated jetways
[X] Random buildings
[X] Random objects
[X] Random vegetation, density 7.0-10.0
SHADER EFFECTS
Performance Quality 5
ATMOSTPHERIC EFFECTS
[X] Particles (smoke, dust, spray)
[X] Precipitation
[X] 3D Clouds
[X] Atmospheric light scattering
Environment settings (Under Environment menu) affect to the ground texture colors.
Flightgear.org site should have information about creating your own scenery or airports.

When I have Terra Sync enabled the game never loads… It says loading scenery forever so I use the graphical interface and pick the sceneries I’d like to fly

The Terra Sync problems sounds like a bug in FlightGear software. Maybe you can send a ticket to the developers. It’s good, that you can use the graphical interface as a workaround.
